PrintFactory Software Installation and License Activation Guide
1. Software Overview and Introduction
1.1 What is PrintFactory Software?
PrintFactory is a RIP software that provides a complete solution from design to printing.
1.2 Why is RIP Software Needed? PrintFactory is One of Them
During the printing process, design files (such as JPG, PNG, AI, PDF, etc.) cannot be directly recognized or used by the printer. This is where a “translator” is needed—this is the role of RIP software.
The main function of RIP software is to convert design files on the computer into a format that the printer can understand and execute. PrintFactory is one of the commonly used RIP software brands.
When using PrintFactory, imported designs are converted into a dedicated print file format (such as .PRT). This file is not a visual image for people, but rather a set of instructions specifically for the printer to “read”.
Especially in scenarios requiring white ink or spot color printing (e.g., DTF or UV printing), the RIP file will additionally generate data for white ink layers, varnish layers, spot color layers, etc., to meet the needs of complex processes and achieve more refined output results
