KM-602|Multi-Output Power Module Inspection and Replacement Guide
Applicable Model: LINKO KM-602 DTF Printer
When to Use This Guide: Use this guide in either of the following cases:
- The printer does not power on at all.
- One of the following components does not work: X-axis motor, Y-axis motor, cooling fan, screen, carriage board, mainboard.
This guide shows whether the fault comes from the Multi-Output Power Module. This guide also shows how to replace the Multi-Output Power Module.
1. Printer Power Module Overview
The printer uses several power modules. Each power module supplies a different system. The Multi-Output Power Module is the main power unit of the printer. It provides DC outputs of 24 V, 36 V and 42 V.

3. Fault Inspection Procedure (Check AC First, Then DC)
Inspection order:
- Step 1: Check the external AC input (①).
- Step 2: Check the DC outputs (②–⑦).
- Step 3: Check the input voltage at the component. Perform Step 3 only after all DC outputs are normal.
⚠ Important: If the external AC input (①) has no power, all DC outputs (②–⑦) read 0 V. This reading is normal. This reading does not mean that the Multi-Output Power Module has failed. Always check the AC input first. Check the DC outputs after that.
3.1 Safety Instructions and Required Tools
- Measure the voltages with the printer powered on. Wear insulated gloves. Touch the measurement points with the probes only. Do not touch exposed circuits with your hands.
- Disconnect all power before you replace the power module. Turn off the machine power switch. Turn off the main power switch. Unplug the power cord.

| 0 V, or the reading is unstable | The external AC input is abnormal. The Multi-Output Power Module is not the cause. | given order. Measure ① again after you find the cause. 1. Power at the wall socket 2. PROTECTION SWITCH tripped 3. MAIN POWER switch turned on 4. Top power switch turned on 5. Loose or oxidized AC cable and terminals 6. Broken AC cable |
3.4 DC Output Inspection (Test Points ②–⑦)
This step shows whether the DC outputs of the Multi-Output Power Module are normal. This step also shows whether the Multi-Output Power Module must be replaced.
Multimeter mode: DCV 200 V. On an auto-ranging multimeter, select DCV.
Measurement method:
- Red probe → positive terminal of the output
- Black probe → negative terminal (return line) of the same output
- Measurement condition: the printer is powered on and idle. Do not print during the measurement.
3.4.1 DC Output Measurement Points (Measure in Order)
Measure the DC outputs of the Multi-Output Power Module in the following order:
- ② Y-axis motor output (36 V)
- ③ X-axis motor output (36 V)
- ④ Cooling fan output (24 V)
- ⑤ Screen driver board output (24 V)
- ⑥ Carriage board output (42 V)
- ⑦ Carriage board and mainboard output (24 V)
(See Fig. 3.4-1 to Fig. 3.4-6)
3.4.2 Normal Voltage Ranges (Evaluation Criteria)
The measured voltage may fluctuate slightly. The output is normal if the reading stays within the range below (rated value ±10%).
| Rated Voltage | Test Points | Normal Range (rated value ±10%) |
|---|---|---|
| 24 V | ④ ⑤ ⑦ | 23 – 25 V |
| 36 V | ② ③ | 35 – 37 V |
| 42 V | ⑥ | 41– 43 V |
Normal readings are shown in Fig. 3.4-7 to Fig. 3.4-9. An abnormal reading is shown in Fig. 3.4-10.
3.4.3 Evaluation and Actions
| Measurement Result | Status | Action |
|---|---|---|
| All outputs ②–⑦ are within the normal range. | The Multi-Output Power Module is normal. | If the fault is gone, the task is complete. If a component still does not work, go to 3.5. |
| All outputs ②–⑦ read 0 V, and ① is confirmed normal. | The Multi-Output Power Module is faulty. | Replace the Multi-Output Power Module. Go to Section 4. |
| One output reads 0 V, or one output is below the lower limit. | This output of the Multi-Output Power Module may be faulty. A short circuit in the downstream circuit may also pull this output down. | Rule out the downstream circuit first. 1. Disconnect all power. Unplug the connector of this output. 2. Turn on the power. Measure again at the output terminal of the Multi-Output Power Module. 3. If the voltage returns to the normal range, the fault is in the downstream cable or in the downstream component. Do not replace the Multi-Output Power Module. Check the cable and the component of this circuit. 4. If the voltage is still 0 V or still low, the Multi-Output Power Module is faulty. Go to Section 4. |
⚠ Important: Go to 3.5 only after all outputs ②–⑦ are normal. If any DC output is abnormal, do not continue to check the components. A wrong conclusion is possible.
3.5 Component Input Voltage Inspection (Only After All DC Outputs Are Normal)
This step answers one question. Does the power reach the component that does not work?
Check only the component that does not work. Measurement of every component is not required.
3.5.1 Select the Measurement Point by Symptom
| Component That Does Not Work | Measurement Position | Rated Voltage | Figure |
|---|---|---|---|
