Software Communication Port Setup (Adapter IP Address Configuration)
Applicable Software: PrintExp Printer Control Software & Print Manager(PM)

1. Preparation Before Installation
1.1 Software Check:
Make sure the PrintExp printer control software is already installed on your computer.
If not installed, please refer to [2.1.1 Install Printer Control Software].
1.2 Adapter Connection:
Ensure the printer is powered on and the adapter is correctly connected to the computer.
Adapter Requirements: Use the original USB-to-Ethernet adapter included with the printer. If you need a replacement, please use a USB 3.0 to Gigabit (1000Mbps) Ethernet adapter to ensure stable communication and data transfer.
✅ Connected: The adapter indicator light is green. (See Figure 1.2-1)
❌ Not Connected: The indicator light is off. (See Figure 1.2-2)
Note: If the light is off, check the adapter power, USB port, and network cable connection. Fix any loose connections before continuing.
2. Configure a Static IP Address
2.1 Open the Network Configuration Panel
- In the Windows search bar, type “Control Panel” and click the icon. (See Figure 2.1-1)
- Click “Network and Sharing Centre”. (See Figure 2.1-2)
- Click “Change adapter settings” on the left panel. (See Figure 2.1-3)
- The “Network Connections” window will appear. (See Figure 2.1-4)
2.2 Open the Target Network Properties
In the “Network Connections” window:
- Right-click Realtek USB GbE Family Controller.
- Select “Properties”(See Figure 2.2).
⚠ Important Warning (Very Important!)
Only open the Realtek USB GbE Family Controller adapter.
Do NOT open or modify your computer’s main Internet connection (Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
If you change the wrong one, your computer will lose Internet access, and remote technical support will not work.

2.3 Configure TCP/IPv4 Settings
2.3.1 In the “Properties” window, check Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click “OK”. (See Figure 2.3-1)
2.3.2 Select “Use the following IP address”. (See Figure 2.3-2)
2.3.3 Enter the IP address: 192.168.127.XXX
IP Address Assignment Rules
- New installation: Use the default IP address: 192.168.127.111
- If previously configured/avoiding conflicts: Keep the first three segments unchanged: 192.168.127.xxx
Set the last segment to any unused number between 100–250.
2.3.4 Click the Subnet mask field; it will automatically fill: 255.255.255.0
Click “OK” to save the settings. (See Figure 2.3-3)
3. Verify the Connection Status
3.1 Launch PrintExp: Close all windows and double-click the PrintExp icon on the desktop. (See Figure 3.1)
3.2 Confirm Connection Status: Check the bottom-left corner of the PrintExp main interface:
✅ Connected: Status icon is green. (See Figure 3.2-1)
❌Not Connected: Status icon is red. Recheck the IP settings and adapter connection.(See Figure 3.2-2)
