Carriage Home Sensor Inspection & Replacement Guide
Applicable Model: LINKO K605B DTF Printer
1. Fault Symptoms & Inspection
Perform sensor inspection or replacement if any of the following issues occur:
| No. | Symptom | Inspection Method |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Indicator light abnormal: The light remains always ON or always OFF, regardless of carriage position. | Hold the “Left” key on the control panel to move the carriage away from the home sensor. Use a hand or tool to block the sensor slot. Check if the indicator light changes. |
| 2 | Software error: Control software shows “Home not detected,” “Homing timeout,” or “Carriage collision.” |
For more detailed signal abnormal types and corresponding inspection points, please refer to“Common Signal Abnormalities and Inspection Points.”
2. Replacement Steps
2.1 Preparation Before Starting
2.1.1 Hold “Left” on the control panel to move the carriage away from the home sensor.
2.1.2 Engage the emergency stop switch: Press it down to stop all motion. (See Figure 2.1.2)
2.1.3 Safety Warning:
Always turn off the power and unplug the machine before any operation.
Otherwise, you may cause permanent sensor damage or electric shock.
2.1.4 Tip: Take a clear photo of the original sensor and wiring for reference during reinstallation.
2.2 Remove the Old Sensor
2.2.1 Unscrew the fixing screw of the home sensor. (See Figure 2.2.1)
2.2.2 Disconnect the cable and remove the old sensor. (See Figure 2.2.2-1 / 2.2.2-2)
2.3 Install the New Sensor
2.3.1 Confirm that the new sensor model matches the old one.
2.3.2 Plug the cable into the new sensor. (See Figure 2.3.2)
2.3.3 Align mounting holes, place the sensor gently into position, and tighten screws.
Tip:
After connection, take a clear photo of the wiring and send it to LINKO Technical Support for confirmation before powering on.
3. Power-On Check
3.1 Inspect both cable ends and connectors, including the plug on the mainboard side. (See Figure 3.1)
3.2 Plug in the power cord and turn on the main power. (See Figure 2.1.1-2)
3.3 Release the emergency stop switch by turning it clockwise. (See Figure 3.3)
3.4 On the control panel, press “Enter” to move the carriage to home. (See Figure 3.4)
3.5 Observe the mainboard home sensor indicator light:
✅ Normal:
Carriage at home → Light OFF (See Figure 3.5-1)
Carriage away → Light ON (See Figure 3.5-2)
❌ Abnormal:
The light always stays ON or always stays OFF, not changing with carriage movement.
Common Signal Abnormalities and Inspection Points
| Type | Symptom | Possible Cause | Check & Solution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Always ON | Indicator always ON | Blocked by metal flag or debris | Clean sensor slot; Adjust metal flag to 1–2 mm distance; Re-plug signal cable firmly. |
| Always OFF | Indicator never lights | Loose or broken wire; power fault | Check sensor mounting; Inspect both cable ends and connectors, including the plug on the mainboard side;Use a multimeter to verify 5 V/24 V supply and continuity. |
| Flashing / Unstable | Light flickers | Sensor loose or interference nearby | Tighten sensor; Keep cable away from motors or power lines; |
| Homing Timeout | Software shows “Home Timeout” | Motor blocked or sensor not triggered | Move carriage manually to confirm smooth rails; Check if metal flag enters sensor slot; Stop operation if resistance is felt. |
