Test and Replace the Multi-Output Power Module on the A602 DTF Printer

Applies To: LINKO A602 DTF Printer

This guide covers only the multi-output power module. Before testing, use the table below to identify the correct power supply for the fault.

1. Multi-Output Power Module Structure and Function

The A602 multi-output power module is an integrated assembly. It contains two independent power supplies mounted together:

  1. One 24V power supply
  2. One 42V power supply

The two power supplies are stacked and used as one module. Test and replace them as one complete module. Do not disassemble them for separate repair.

The multi-output power module is a main power unit in the printer. It provides multiple DC outputs to the following components:

  1. Temperature Controller
  2. Cooling Fan
  3. Y-Axis Driver
  4. White Ink Stirring
  5. LED Light
  6. Main Board (24V and 42V)
  7. Carriage Board (42V)

1.1 Other Independent Power Supply (Not Covered in This Guide)

The 36V power supply directly powers the X-axis motor. There is no driver board between them.

For testing and replacement, see Test and Replace the 36V Power Supply on the A602 DTF Printer.

2. Multi-Output Power Module Wiring Diagram

The table below is grouped by power supply. Each power supply has a separate AC input.

3. Troubleshooting Procedure

Always test the AC input first. Then test the DC output.

Important

If there is no external AC input at ⑧–⑨ or ⑮–⑯, all outputs from that power supply will read 0V. This is normal and does not mean the power supply is faulty. Test the external AC input first. Then test the DC outputs.

3.1 Safety Warnings

  1. The printer must be powered on for voltage testing.
  2. Disconnect all power before replacing the power module.
  3. Wear insulated gloves during testing. Do not touch exposed circuits.

3.2 Check the External Power Supply (AC Input)

Multimeter Setting: ACV 600V

Test Condition: Printer powered on

Measure the two AC inputs separately.

24V Power Supply AC Input:

  1. Black probe → ⑧ (Neutral N)
  2. Red probe → ⑨ (Live L)

42V Power Supply AC Input:

  1. Black probe → ⑮ (Neutral N)
  2. Red probe → ⑯ (Live L)

Normal Range:

220V printer: AC 200–240V

110V printer: AC 100–127V

Check the rated voltage on the nameplate beside the printer power inlet.

If both readings are normal, the power module is receiving AC input. Continue to Section 3.3.

Abnormal: The reading is 0V or clearly unstable. Use the two readings to determine the troubleshooting range.

Both AC inputs share the same upstream power circuit and power filter:

Both readings are 0V: Check the shared upstream circuit, including the power outlet, main power switch, emergency stop switch, and power filter.
Only one reading is 0V: Check the AC cable, terminals, and connectors for that input. Do not replace the complete multi-output power module at this stage.

Check the applicable circuit for the following items:

  1. Main power switch is off
  2. Emergency stop switch is not released
  3. Power outlet has no power
  4. AC cable is loose
  5. Terminal is loose or oxidized
  6. Cable has an open circuit

After checking each item, measure the AC inputs again. If both inputs are still 0V, the internal fuse in the power filter may be blown. This fuse cannot be replaced externally. Contact LINKO Technical Support.

3.3 Check the DC Outputs (①–⑥, ⑩–⑬)

This step checks whether the DC outputs are normal and whether the multi-output power module must be replaced.

Multimeter Setting: DCV 200V

Test Condition: Printer powered on and in standby.

3.3.1 DC Output Test Points

Measure the five output pairs in the order shown below

Output To Rated Voltage Red Probe Black Probe Figure

Carriage Board 42V ⑪ ⑫ Fig. 3.3-5

3.3.2 Normal Voltage Ranges

  1. 24V circuits (①–⑥): 23–25V (see Fig. 3.3-6)
  2. 42V circuits (⑩–⑬): 41–43V (see Fig. 3.3-7)

3.3.3 Evaluate the Test Results

Test Result Status Action
All DC outputs are within the normal ranges and all components work normally Power module is normal Power module is normal. No replacement is required.
All DC outputs are within the normal ranges, but one or more components do not work Power module is normal. The fault is not in the power module. Continue to check the input voltage at the affected component. See Section 3.4.
Any DC output is 0V or clearly below normal Power module is abnormal Replace the multi-output power module. See Section 4.

Important

Continue to Section 3.4 only after all DC outputs are confirmed normal. If any DC output is abnormal, do not continue troubleshooting the component. This prevents incorrect diagnosis.

3.4 Check the Input Voltage at the Affected Component

Perform this step only after the power module is confirmed normal. This step determines whether power reaches the affected component or the component itself is faulty.

Multimeter Setting: DCV 200V

Test Condition: Printer powered on and in standby.

  1. Black probe → Ground (GND)
  2. Red probe → Power input terminal of the affected component

3.4.2 Evaluate the Result

Component Input Voltage Fault Diagnosis Action
0V or clearly below normal Power does not reach the component. The cable may have an open circuit, or a contact may be oxidized. Check the cable for an open circuit. Check for loose or oxidized connectors.
23–25V on a 24V circuit, or 41–43V on a 42V circuit, but the component does not work Component fault Replace the affected component

4. Replace the Multi-Output Power Module

4.1 Power Off the Printer

  1. Press the emergency stop switch (see Fig. 4.1-1).
  2. Turn off the main power switch. Unplug the power cord (see Fig. 4.1-2).
  3. After power-off, wait 1 minute for the internal capacitors to discharge. Then disconnect the cables.

4.2 Remove the Old Power Module

Important:

Before removal, take a photo of the current wiring. Use the photo to reconnect each cable to the same position.

  1. After photographing the wiring, loosen the screws at ①–⑯ in order. Disconnect the cables (see Fig. 4.2-1 and Fig. 4.2-2).
  2. Remove the power module mounting screws. Remove the old power module (see Fig. 4.2-3 and Fig. 4.2-4).

4.3 Install the New Power Module

  1. Verify the model. Compare the new power module with the old one side by side. The model, dimensions, terminal count, and terminal layout must match. If any item differs, stop installation and contact LINKO Technical Support.
  2. Check the voltage selectors. The 115V/230V selectors on both the 24V and 42V power supplies must match the rated voltage on the nameplate beside the printer power inlet.
  3. Install the power module. Align it with the mounting holes and tighten the mounting screws (see Fig. 4.2-3).
  4. Connect the cables. Follow Fig. 2-1 and Fig. 2-2. Make sure each cable is fully inserted, correctly oriented, and secure. Then tighten the screws.

⚠ An incorrect voltage selector setting can damage the new power module immediately at power-on. Verify both selectors before applying power.

⚠ If ground wires ⑦ and ⑭ are not connected, electrical leakage or ESD damage may occur.

5. Power-On Check

  1. After connecting all cables, check again for any loose connections.
  2. Plug in the power cord. Turn on the main power switch (see Fig. 3.1-1).
  3. Turn the emergency stop switch clockwise to release it and restore power (see Fig. 3.1-2).

6. Final Check

After wiring and power-on, complete these three checks to confirm normal operation of the multi-output power module:

  1. The power supply indicators are on (see Fig. 6).
  2. Repeat all five DC output tests in Section 3.3. The 24V circuits should read 23–25V. The 42V circuits should read 41–43V.
  3. The affected component operates normally.

If any of the three checks fails, stop the procedure and contact LINKO Technical Support: support@dtflinko.com.
