Test and Replace the 36V Power Supply on the A602 DTF Printer
Applies To: LINKO A602 DTF Printer
This guide covers only the 36V power supply. Before testing, use the table below to identify the correct power supply for the fault.
| Symptom | Power Supply to Check | Action |
|---|---|---|
| X-axis does not move, makes abnormal noise, or reports an error | 36V Power Supply | Follow this guide |
| Temperature controller, cooling fan, Y-axis driver, white ink stirring, LED light, main board, or carriage board does not work | Multi-Output Power Module | See “Test and Replace the Multi-Output Power Module on the A602 DTF Printer” |
| Printer has no power and all indicators are off | External AC Input | Check the external power supply in Section 3.2 first |
1. 36V Power Supply Function
The A602 printer uses several power supplies. Each power supply provides the required voltage to a specific system.
The 36V power supply provides DC 36V directly to the X-axis motor. There is no driver board between them. Check the 36V output to determine whether power to the X-axis motor is normal.
1.1 Other Independent Power Supply (Not Covered in This Guide)
The multi-output power module supplies power to the temperature controller, cooling fan, Y-axis driver, white ink stirring, and LED light. It also supplies power to the 24V main board, 42V main board, and 42V carriage board.
For testing and replacement, see “Test and Replace the Multi-Output Power Module on the A602 DTF Printer.”
2. 36V Power Supply Wiring Diagram
| Category | No. | Terminal | Description |
| AC Input (External Power → 36V Power Supply) |
① | Neutral (N) | AC input neutral |
| ② | Live (L) | AC input power | |
| ③ | Ground (G) | ESD and safety protection | |
| DC Output (36V Power Supply → X-Axis Motor) |
④ | 36V Negative | Output to X-axis motor (−) |
| ⑤ | 36V Positive | Output to X-axis motor (+) |
3. Troubleshooting Procedure
Always test the AC input first. Then test the DC output.
Important:
If there is no external AC input at ①–②, the 36V output at ④–⑤ will be 0V. This is normal and does not mean the power supply is faulty. Test the external AC input first. Then test the 36V output.
3.1 Safety Warnings
- The printer must be powered on for voltage testing.
- Disconnect all power before replacing the power supply.
- Wear insulated gloves during testing. Do not touch exposed circuits.
3.2 Check the External Power Supply (AC Input) at ①–②
Multimeter Setting: ACV 600V
Test Condition: Printer powered on
Test Method:
- Black probe → ① (Neutral N)
- Red probe → ② (Live L)
Normal Range: AC 200–240V for a 220V printer.
For a 110V printer, the normal range is AC 100–127V. Check the rated voltage on the nameplate beside the printer power inlet.
If the reading is normal, the power supply is receiving AC input. Continue to Section 3.3.
Abnormal: The reading is 0V or clearly unstable. This does not indicate a power supply fault. Check the following items in order:
- Main power switch is off
- Emergency stop switch is not released
- Power outlet has no power
- AC cable is loose
- Terminal is loose or oxidized
- Cable has an open circuit
After checking each item, measure ①–② again. If the reading is still 0V, the internal fuse in the power filter may be blown. This fuse cannot be replaced externally. Contact LINKO Technical Support.
3.3 Check the 36V Power Supply DC Output (④–⑤)
This step checks whether the 36V power supply output is normal.
Multimeter Setting: DCV 200V
Test Condition: Printer powered on and in standby. The 36V power supply directly powers the X-axis motor, so voltage is present in standby.
Test Method:
- Black probe → ④ (36V negative)
- Red probe → ⑤ (36V positive)
3.3.1 Evaluate the DC Output Reading
| 36V Power Supply DC Output | Status | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 35–37V and the X-axis motor operates normally | DC output is normal | Power supply is normal. No replacement is required. |
| 35–37V but the X-axis motor does not work | Power supply is normal. The fault is not in the power supply. | Continue to check the X-axis motor input voltage. See Section 3.3.2. |
| 0V or clearly below normal (AC input confirmed normal) |
Internal power supply fault | Replace the 36V power supply. See Section 4. |
3.3.2 Check the X-Axis Motor Input Voltage
This step determines whether power reaches the X-axis motor or the motor itself is faulty.
Multimeter Setting: DCV 200V
Test Condition: Printer powered on and in standby.
Test Point: Power input terminals of the X-axis motor.
| X-Axis Motor Input Voltage | Fault Diagnosis | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 0V or clearly below normal | Power does not reach the X-axis motor. The cable may have an open circuit, or a contact may be oxidized. | Check the cable and connectors. Replace the cable if necessary. |
| 35–37V but the X-axis motor does not work | X-axis motor fault | Replace the X-axis motor |
4.2 Remove the Old Power Supply
Important:
Before removal, take a photo of the current wiring. Use the photo to reconnect each cable to the same position.
- After photographing the wiring, loosen the screws at ①–⑤ in order. Disconnect the cables (see Fig. 2).
- Remove the power supply mounting screws. Remove the old power supply (see Fig. 4.2-1 and Fig. 4.2-2).
4.3 Install the New Power Supply
- Verify the model. Compare the new power supply with the old one side by side. The model, dimensions, terminal count, and terminal layout must match. If any item differs, stop installation and contact LINKO Technical Support.
- Check the voltage selector. The 115V/230V selector on the new power supply must match the rated voltage on the nameplate beside the printer power inlet.
- Install the power supply. Align it with the mounting holes and tighten the mounting screws (see Fig. 4.2-1).
- Connect the cables. Follow Fig. 2 and reconnect all cables in order. Make sure each cable is fully inserted, correctly oriented, and secure. Then tighten the screws.
⚠ An incorrect voltage selector setting can damage the new power supply immediately at power-on. Verify the setting before applying power.
⚠ If ground wire ③ is not connected, electrical leakage or ESD damage may occur.
6. Final Check
After wiring and power-on, complete these three checks to confirm normal operation of the 36V power supply:
- The power supply indicator is on (see Fig. 6).
- Repeat the DC output test at ④–⑤ as described in Section 3.3. The reading should be 35–37V.
- The X-axis motor operates normally.
If any of the three checks fails, stop the procedure and contact LINKO Technical Support: support@dtflinko.com.
