How to Select a Print Profile in PrintFactory
1. Purpose
This guide explains how to open PrintFactory Layout and select or confirm a print profile.
In PrintFactory, LINKO print profiles appear in the Media drop-down list. The options usually use LINKO profile names or codes. They may not show the print material name directly.
After PrintFactory Layout opens, confirm Printer, Media, and Mode in this order. Select the print profile in the Media field.
This guide applies to LINKO printers that use PrintFactory RIP.
2. Before You Start
Check the following before you start:
- PrintFactory RIP opens normally.
- The required print profile has already been imported into PrintFactory. If not, see How to Import, Back Up, and Delete Print Profiles in PrintFactory.
- You have confirmed the correct profile name or code and Mode with LINKO technical support or in the installation or setup records.
3. Quick Selection Rules
Use the table below to choose each setting.
| Item | How to Choose |
|---|---|
| Printer | Select the current printer. If only one printer is configured, do not change this field. |
| Media | Select the profile name or code confirmed by LINKO for the current printer. The list may not show the print material name directly. |
| Mode | Use the standard production Mode confirmed during installation or setup. The values in the Mode name indicate the print resolution. For example: 720×1200, 720×1800, or 720×2400. A higher resolution usually provides finer detail, but reduces printing speed. |
Important: The Media list shows LINKO profile names or codes. It may not show the print material name directly. Use only the print profile confirmed by LINKO for the current printer model, ink color order, and print material. Also use the confirmed Mode. Do not guess which profile to use from its name or code, and do not test profiles one by one. An incompatible profile may cause incorrect colors.
4.2 Open PrintFactory Layout
- Click the plus (+) button in the top-left corner of the window (See Fig. 4.2-1).
- When the Open File window appears, click Cancel (See Fig. 4.2-2).
PrintFactory Layout opens.
Note: This step only opens PrintFactory Layout. No print file is required to select the print profile.
4.3 Select Printer
Find the Printer field at the top right of the PrintFactory Layout window. Click the drop-down arrow. Select the current printer (See Fig. 4.3).
4.4 Select the Print Profile (Media)
Find the Media field at the top right of the window. Click the drop-down arrow. Select the profile name or code confirmed by LINKO for the current printer (See Fig. 4.4).
4.5 Select Mode
Find the Mode field at the top right of the window. Click the drop-down arrow. Select the confirmed Mode (See Fig. 4.5).
Note: For the selected Media, different Modes use different print configurations. Changing the Mode also changes the print configuration.
