How to Import, Back Up, and Delete DTF ICC Profiles in PrintFactory

LINKO DTF Printers | PrintFactory RIP Software Operation

1. Overview

This guide explains how to import, back up, and delete ICC Profiles in PrintFactory Calibrator.

A ICC Profile is a set of color output rules.

It tells PrintFactory RIP how to output colors for the current printer, ink, DTF film, and print mode. This helps keep color output accurate and consistent. Each printer and consumable setup requires its matching ICC Profile. Do not mix ICC profiles between different setups.

This guide covers only profile import, backup, and deletion. It does not cover profile creation or adjustment.

Go directly to the section you need:

  • Import a new ICC Profile: See Section 3.
  • Export and back up a ICC Profile: See Section 4.
  • Delete an incorrect or unused ICC Profile: See Section 5.

2. Before You Start

Before you start, make sure:

  • Software status: PrintFactory RIP is installed, registered, and licensed. It can start normally.
Register and Log In to Account
    Install Software and Activate License
  • Output path: The print output file path has been set.
    Set Output File Storage Path
  • ICC Profile file: Before importing a ICC Profile, save the file provided by LINKO on the desktop or in an easy-to-find folder.
  • Backup before deletion: Back up the ICC Profile before deleting it. See Section 4, “Export and Back Up a ICC Profile.”

Find the PrintFactory RIP icon on the desktop. Double-click it to start the software. (See Fig.3.1)

3.2 Open PrintFactory Calibrator

1.Click the target icon   in the upper-left corner of the software window. (See Fig.3.2-1)

2.In the PrintFactory Calibrator window, click the Import icon . (See Fig.3.2-2)

3.3 Select and Import the ICC Profile

In the file selection window, find the ICC Profile file provided by LINKO. Select the file, then click Open. (See Fig.3.3)

3.4 Confirm the Import Summary

Wait for the import to finish. When the Import Summary window appears, click OK. (See Fig.3.4)

3.5 Select Media

In the Media list on the left side of the Calibrator window, select the media shown after import. (See Fig.3.5)

If the list contains more than one Media option, select the one that matches the current DTF film setup.

3.6 Select Mode

In the Mode list, click CMYK. (See Fig.3.6)

Note: Mode is the print mode in the current ICC Profile. Most standard full-color DTF print jobs use CMYK. If the ICC Profile provided by LINKO specifies another Mode, select that Mode.

3.7 Check and Enable Print mirrored

Check whether Print mirrored is selected.

If it is not selected, select Print mirrored. Then click the Save icon in the upper-right corner to save the settings. (See Fig.3.7)

Note: Select this option for DTF and other processes that transfer the image from film to the substrate. Do NOTselect it for Direct printing or other processes that do not require mirrored output.

3.8 Complete the Import

Click the Close button in the upper-right corner to close the PrintFactory Calibrator window. (See Fig.3.8)

The ICC Profile is now imported and saved.

4. Export and Back Up a ICC Profile

This section uses the Export function to back up the selected ICC Profile. The exported profile file is the backup file.

Save the backup file in a fixed and secure location. Use this file to restore the profile after a computer change, system reinstallation, software migration, or accidental deletion.

4.1 Open PrintFactory Calibrator

Follow Steps 3.1 and 3.2 to open the PrintFactory Calibrator window.

Note: Open only the Calibrator window. Do not click Import.

4.2 Select the ICC Profile to Back Up

1.In the Media list, select the media for the profile you want to back up. (See Fig.4.2-1)

2.In the Mode list, select the print mode you want to back up. Then click the Export icon. (See Fig.4.2-2)

4.3 Save the Backup File

In the save window, select a backup location. Then click Save. (See Fig.4.3)

Save the backup file on a non-system drive, USB drive, external drive, or company server.

Important: Do not store the only backup copy on the desktop, in the Downloads folder, or in another temporary location.

4.4 Check the Backup Result

Open the save location and check the exported file. (See Fig.4.4)

Completion Check: The exported ICC Profile file appears in the selected folder.

If the file is not shown, select another save location and export it again.

5. Delete a ICC Profile

Important: A ICC Profile directly affects printed colors. Do not delete it unless necessary. Back up the profile before deletion. Do not delete it if the backup has not been confirmed.

5.1 Open PrintFactory Calibrator

Follow Steps 3.1 and 3.2 to open the PrintFactory Calibrator window. Do not click Import.
