Printer Manager Installation Guide

Software: Printer Manager (PM)

1. Preparation Before Installation

1.1 Hardware and System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10 or later
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 (2.3 GHz) or higher
  • Memory: 8 GB or more
  • Hard Disk: 500 GB or more

1.2 Environment Setup

  • Make sure the computer is connected to the Internet.
  • Turn off the firewall and antivirus software before installation.

1.3 Path Naming Rule

To ensure that the installer and driver run correctly, the installer file name and folder path may only contain the following characters:

  • English letters (A–Z / a–z)
  • Numbers (0–9)
  • Underscore (_)
  • Hyphen (-)
  • Space ( )

Do not use any other characters.

✔ Correct examples:
C:PMPrinterManager.exe
C:UsersTomDesktopPM_Installer

✘ Incorrect examples:
Paths containing Chinese characters, other languages, emojis, or special symbols.

2. Install Printer Manager

2.1 Copy the Installer to the Desktop

  • Insert the USB drive included with the printer. (See Figure 2.1-1)
  • Open the USB drive and locate the Printer Manager installer. (See Figure 2.1-2)
  • Copy the installer to your desktop.

Note:
If the USB drive is lost, contact LINKO technical support to get the Printer Manager installer.
This ensures you receive the correct, safe, and compatible installation file for your printer.

2.2 Select the Installation Language

Double-click the installer.
Select a language and click “OK”.

2.3 Select Connection Components

Select USB in the “Select Components” window. (See Figure 2.3)
Click “Next”.

Notes:
NET = Ethernet connection(See Figure 2.3-2)

USB = USB cable connection(See Figure 2.3-3)

2.4 Accept the License Agreement

Check “I accept the agreement”.
Click “Next”. (See Figure 2.4)

2.5 Choose the Installation Folder

The default location is drive C.
To change the folder, select a new path and click “Next”.

2.6 Create a Desktop Shortcut

  • The default Start Menu folder name “PM” is correct. (See Figure 2.6-1) Click “Next”.
  • Create a desktop shortcut” is already selected. (See Figure 2.6-2)
    Click “Next”.

2.7 Install the Software

Click “Install”. (See Figure 2.7-1)
Wait for the installation to finish. (See Figure 2.7-2)

2.8 Finish Installation

Click “Finish”. (See Figure 2.8)

3. Configure the Printer Driver

3.1 Open Device Manager

Search for “Device Manager” and open it. (See Figure 3.1)

3.2 Record Connected Devices

Before connecting the printer, observe the lists under “Other devices” and “Universal Serial Bus controllers” and record the existing devices. This helps in identifying the newly added device later.(See Figure 3.2)

3.3 Connection Printer

Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the computer using a USB cable.

Tip: Use a rear USB port on the computer for better stability.

3.4 Scan for Hardware

In the Device Manager window, select the “Action” menu, then click “Scan for hardware changes” to search for the new device entry. (See Figure 3.4)

(The new entry may contain keywords such as “Printer” or “BYHX.”)

3.5 Update the Driver

Step 1: Right-click the newly listed device and select “Update driver.”(See Figure 3.5-1)

Step 2: In the pop-up window, choose “Browse my computer for drivers” (See Figure 3.5-2)

Step 3: Select the Driver Path
If the path shown is:
C:Program Files (x86)PM-20240301-v1.0.2
→ Click “Next”. (See Figure 3.5-3)
If the path is different:
Click “Browse…” and select the PM installation folder.

Step 4: If the message “The best drivers for your device are already installed” appears, click “Close.” (See Figure 3.5-3)
The driver installation is now complete.

4. Verify the Printer Manager Installation

  • Go back to the desktop and double-click the “PM” icon to open the main interface.
  • Check the USB status icon in the lower-left corner of the window (See Figure 4-1).

✅ Normal: The USB status icon shows a green check mark, which means the Printer Manager software is installed correctly (See Figure 4-2).

❌ Abnormal:
The USB status icon shows a red cross, which means the Printer Manager software installation failed (See Figure 4-3).

5. Installation Complete

Printer Manager and the driver are now ready for use.
