Carriage Home Micro Switch Inspection and Replacement Guide
Applicable Model: LINKO A60 Series DTF Printer
When any of the following conditions occur, the carriage home micro switch should be inspected:
- White ink circulation cannot start in standby mode
- The printer is powered on after printing, but the white ink circulation does not run
- LINKO Technical Support requests this inspection
1. Micro Switch Signal Inspection and Judgment
1.1 Inspection Description
The carriage home micro switch is used to detect whether the print carriage has returned to the home position.
When the carriage reaches the home position and triggers the micro switch:
- The micro switch sends a signal to the PLC control board
- The signal is shown on the X2 input as an indicator light
- The X2 indicator light ON / OFF shows whether the micro switch is triggered
By checking the X2 indicator light status, the micro switch signal condition can be confirmed.
1.2 Manual Trigger Inspection
- Press and hold “LEFT” on the control panel
to move the carriage away from the home position - Use your hand or a tool to press the carriage home micro switch
while observing the X2 indicator light on the PLC control board
(See Figure 1)
1.3 Judgment Result and Action
- Press the micro switch
→ The carriage is at the home position
→ X2 indicator light turns ON - Release the micro switch
→ The carriage leaves the home position
→ X2 indicator light turns OFF
Judgment Result:
- ✅ Normal
The X2 indicator light changes according to press/release actions
→ The micro switch signal is normal. No replacement is required. - ❌ Abnormal
The X2 indicator light does not change
(always ON or always OFF)
→ The micro switch signal is abnormal. The micro switch must be replaced.
2. Micro Switch Replacement Procedure
2.1 Preparation Before Replacement
- Press and hold “LEFT” on the control panel to move the carriage away from the micro switch (See Figure 2.1-1 / 2.1-2)
- Press the emergency stop switch to stop the printer (See Figure 2.1-3)
- Safety Warning:
Turn off the printer’s main power switch and unplug the power cable before any operation.
Failure to do so may cause electric shock or permanent sensor damage. (See Figure 2.1-4) - Tip:
Take clear photos of the original micro switch installation for reference during reinstallation. (See Figure 2.1-6)
2.2 Remove the Old Micro Switch
2.2.1 Remove the screws fixing the micro switch bracket.(See Figure 2.2.1)
2.2.2 Remove the screws securing the micro switch to the bracket, then separate the micro switch from the bracket.(See Figure 2.2.2-1/2.2.2-2)
2.2.3 Disconnect the two cables, then remove the old micro switch.(See Figure 2.2.3-1/2.2.3-2)
2.3 Install the New Micro Switch
2.3.1 Reconnect the cables to the new micro switch(See Figure 2.3.1)
2.3.2 Align the micro switch with the mounting holes on the bracket,
then tighten the screws to secure it.(See Figure 2.3.2-1/2.3.2-2)
3. Power-On Inspection
- Recheck all cable connections for looseness or reverse connections.
- Plug in the power cable and turn on the printer’s main power switch.(See Figure 2.1-5)
- Rotate the emergency stop switch clockwise to release it.(See Figure 3-1)
- Press “ENTER” on the control panel to return the carriage to the home position.(See Figure 3-2)
4. Final Judgment Criteria
- Carriage at home position
→ Micro switch is triggered
→ X2 indicator light turns ON(See Figure 4-1) - Carriage away from home position
→ Micro switch is released
→ X2 indicator light turns OFF(See Figure 4-2)
If the indicator light status matches the above description, the micro switch signal is normal, and the printer can proceed to normal operation or further adjustment.
❌ Abnormal Condition and Action
If, after replacement and power-on, the X2 indicator light does not change (always ON or always OFF) when the carriage moves:
- Check whether the micro switch cables are firmly connected.
- Check whether the installation direction matches the original structure.
- Check whether the cables are pinched or pulled by the bracket or housing.
If all checks are correct, please contact LINKO Technical Support for further assistance.
