How to Deactivate a PrintFactory License

1. Purpose

This guide shows how to release the PrintFactory license from the original computer.

One PrintFactory license can be active on only one computer at a time. Release the license from the original computer in these cases:

  • You switch to a new computer.
  • You reinstall the operating system.
  • You move the license to another computer.
  • A new computer shows a message that the license is already in use.

After the license is released, sign in to your PrintFactory account on the target computer. Then reactivate the license.

2. Operating Steps

2.1 Start PrintFactory RIP

Double-click the PrintFactory RIP icon on the desktop. See Fig. 2.1.

2.2 Open Software Manager

  1. On the menu bar, click Help. See Fig. 2.2-1.
  2. In the drop-down menu, click Software Manager. See Fig. 2.2-2.

2.3 Deactivate the License

Important: Deactivation signs the software out of your account. Finish or stop all print jobs first.

  1. In the Software Manager window, click Help. See Fig. 2.3-1.
  2. In the drop-down menu, select Deactivate License. See Fig. 2.3-2.
  3. The Checking connection window opens. The software checks the internet connection. Wait until this window closes. See Fig. 2.3-3.
  4. The User Account Control window opens. Click Yes. See Fig. 2.3-4.
  5. The Deactivate Wizard window opens. Click OK to close it. See Fig. 2.3-5.

2.4 Complete the Release

After deactivation, the software signs you out of your account. In Software Manager, both connection indicators show red × marks. The Activate button appears. This means the license has been released from the original computer. See Fig. 2.4.

To use PrintFactory again, activate the license as described in Chapter 3.

3. Next Step: Activate the License Again

To use PrintFactory on the original computer or the target computer, follow this guide:

If PrintFactory is already installed on the target computer, start from the License Activation section.
