Printer Installation Preparation and Checklist Guide
Proper preparation before installing a printer ensures a smooth installation process and avoids unnecessary issues. Please follow this detailed guide:
1. Choosing the Installation Location and Planning the Workspace
1.1 Space Requirements
- Ensure sufficient space for the printer and powder shaker for easy operation and maintenance.
- Leave enough clearance for material and product movement.
- Check that the entrance dimensions are larger than the equipment to ensure the equipment can be moved into the installation area.
1.2 Environmental Conditions
- Temperature: Recommended range is 22°C-28°C (72°F-82°F).
- Humidity: Recommended range is 45%-60%, avoiding excessive dryness or humidity.
- It is recommended to install air conditioning to regulate the room temperature and humidity, and the air conditioner should not be pointed at the printing equipment.
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation to avoid the accumulation of odors from ink evaporation.
1.3 Workspace Cleaning
- Clear the installation area of debris and dust, and keep the floor and surfaces clean.
- Plan the equipment placement to ensure convenient operation and safety.
2. Power Supply and Wiring Preparation
2.1 Power Supply Requirements
- Use a stable 220V/110V power supply. For areas with unstable voltage, a voltage stabilizer is mandatory, especially for high-power printers.
- Three-Phase Power:
Prepare three-phase power supply in advance if required (e.g., for high-power powder shakers or roller machines).
Ensure the installation meets local electrical safety regulations and is done by a certified electrician. - Ensure the power outlet is properly grounded to prevent static electricity from affecting the equipment.
2.2 Wiring
- Prepare cables of sufficient length for power and data connections. Organize the wires to avoid tension, tangles, or crossing, which can cause safety risks.

3. Computer and Software Preparation
3.1 Computer Requirements
- Operating system: Windows 10/11 version (based on printer requirements).
- Processor: Intel Core i5 (2.3 GHz or faster)
- Memory: at least 8GB or more.
- Storage: 500 GB SSD(reserve enough space to install software and store print files).
3.2 Software Installation Preparation
Before you can start using the printer, you need to install two types of software on your computer:
-
Printer Software: This allows your computer to communicate with the printer.
-
RIP Software (Raster Image Processor): This processes your design files and prepares them for printing.
Both programs are included on the USB flash drive that comes with your machine.
In some cases, the RIP software will be sent to you separately after the LINKO sales team sets up a dedicated technical support group.
Please insert the USB drive into your computer and follow the instructions to install both programs.
💡 Tip: If you are not familiar with the installation process, we recommend contacting a LINKO technician for remote support.
3.3 Remote Support Setup (Recommended for First-Time Users)
If this is your first time using the printer, remote assistance is highly recommended. A LINKO technician can guide you through the entire setup.
To prepare for remote support:
-
Please install AnyDesk on your computer in advance.
-
Download link: https://anydesk.com/en/downloads/windows
Once installed, share your AnyDesk address with our technician so they can connect and assist you.
3.4 Interface Check
- Verify that the computer has a functional USB3.0 port or Gigabit Ethernet port to connect to the printer.
- If using a laptop, ensure it has a Gigabit Ethernet port or adapter for data transmission.
4. Network Environment Preparation
4.1 Network Connection
Ensure a stable network environment to facilitate network operation and remote assistance.
4.2 Firewall Settings
- Adjust firewall and antivirus settings on the computer to allow the printer software to communicate properly.( It is recommended to remove all antivirus programs)
5. Ink and Consumables Preparation
5.1 Ink
- Prepare LINKO-branded ink to ensure smooth calibration and accurate color output.
- Check the ink’s expiration date and seal condition to avoid using expired or contaminated ink.
5.2 Consumables
- Prepare LINKO-matched printing film to ensure the size and type are compatible with the printer.
- Use LINKO-matched Cleaning ink and Moisturizing ink to avoid different brands incompatibility with the ink that could cause printhead clogging.
5.3 Printhead Notes
- Printheads are valuable consumables sourced from manufacturers like Epson.
- Once unsealed and ink is used, the printhead cannot be returned or exchanged, and manufacturers do not provide warranties. Handle with care.
- If you pre-install the printhead and complete the wiring per the manual, take photos or videos and confirm with a LINKO engineer before powering on to avoid damage from incorrect operations.
6. Prepare Installation Tools
6.1 Basic Tools
- Screwdriver (flat and cross)
- Hex wrench
- Adjustable wrench
- Scissors or wire cutters
- Claw hammer
- Ruler and measuring tools
7. Personnel and Technical Preparation
7.1 Training and Learning
-
Designate at least two long-term employees to attend the full system training provided by LINKO.
-
These individuals should be capable of independently handling daily operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
-
LINKO will provide a one-time live training session delivered by a professional technician.
Subsequent support will be provided as case-by-case assistance, not full retraining.
-
Having backup personnel ensures your team remains functional even in the event of staff turnover or leave.
7.2 Personnel Arrangement
-
Assign trained or experienced personnel to assist with equipment installation.
-
Ensure there are enough staff available to handle unpacking, moving, and assembling the printer.
-
Reserve adequate time for installation and testing, as the process may take several hours.
-
If installation involves cross-border coordination or different time zones, account for possible delays in scheduling.
7.3 Technical Support Setup
-
The LINKO sales team will create a dedicated technical support group (e.g., via WhatsApp or WeChat) for real-time communication and assistance.
-
Upon receiving the goods, carefully inspect all equipment and accessories for any damage or missing parts. Contact LINKO immediately if any issues are found.
-
Before installation, thoroughly read the installation manual and operation guide to understand all components, wiring, and system setup procedures.
-
Familiarize yourself with the warranty terms and after-sales service policy for future support reference.
7.4 Equipment Testing and Confirmation
-
After installation, follow the manual to:
-
Calibrate the equipment
-
Print a test image
-
Confirm that all functions are operating properly
-
-
Complete and sign the Installation Completion Confirmation Form.
If the confirmation form is not submitted within three (3) business days, it will be considered default acceptance of the completed installation.
7.5 Safety Precautions
-
Ensure the working area is free from open flames, and keep a fire extinguisher easily accessible in case of emergencies.
-
During installation and operation, wear protective gloves to avoid direct skin contact with ink, cleaning fluids, or other chemical substances.
7.6 Record and Backup
-
Document all critical settings and parameters during installation and testing for future reference.
-
LINKO technicians will create a system backup on your computer after software and driver installation.
Do not delete, move, or overwrite this backup.
-
The computer used for this printer should be dedicated to printing purposes only. Avoid using it for other non-essential activities that may cause system instability.
7.7 Regular Maintenance Plan
-
Develop a daily maintenance routine to ensure long-term and stable equipment operation.
-
Follow LINKO’s maintenance guidelines and training content for optimal results.
-
If you encounter any issues during operation or future use, please contact LINKO’s technical team or a certified technician for assistance in time.
