1. Before Layout

Prepare the image files for layout: Ensure the image files you want to layout (e.g., JPG, TIFF, PNG, etc.) are saved on your computer and can be easily located.

2. Steps

2.1 Launch PrintFactory RIP Software

On your computer desktop, find and double-click the PrintFactory RIP software icon to launch it.

2.2 Load Image File

2.2.1 Add Image File

Click “Add job” in the upper left corner of the PrintFactory software interface.

2.2.2 Select and Open Image File

In the file selection window that pops up, find and select the image file you want to layout, then click “Open”.

After the image file is loaded, you will see them in the PrintFactory software interface.

2.3 Adjust Image Size

2.3.1 Select the Image

Click on the image whose size you want to adjust to select it.

2.3.2 Modify Image Size

In the properties panel on the top left, you can modify the image’s width or height according to your needs.

Important: Before modifying, ensure the aspect ratio lock (usually a chain icon) next to them is checked. This will maintain the image’s proportions when adjusting width or height, preventing distortion.

After modifying the size, the image will display in the layout area according to the new dimensions.

2.4 Crop Image (Optional)

(This step applies if the image needs its blank areas removed. Can be skipped if no blank areas exist.)

2.4.1 Select the Image to Crop

Click on the image you want to crop to select it.

2.4.2 Select Crop Tool and Define Area

In the toolbar, find and click the Crop Tool icon (usually depicted as a sheet of paper). Then select the “User Defined” option, allowing you to manually adjust the crop area.

Drag the crop handles around the image to adjust the size and position of the crop box, precisely selecting the area you want to keep.

2.4.4 Confirm Crop Completion

After cropping, the image will only show the area you wanted to keep; excess blank areas are removed.

2.5 Single Image Copy Settings

(This step applies when you need to print multiple copies of a single image)

2.5.1 Select the Image

Click on the image for which you want to set copies.

2.5.2 Click “Step and Repeat”

In the properties panel on the top left, click the “Step and Repeat” button

2.5.3 Set Copy Quantity and Spacing

In the window that pops up, set the number of copies you want to print, as well as the horizontal spacing (X Spacing) and vertical spacing (Y Spacing) between them.

Copies X: The number of image copies you want to generate along the horizontal axis (X-axis).
Copies Y: The number of rows of image copies you want to generate along the vertical axis (Y-axis).
X Spacing: The blank distance between two adjacent image copies horizontally.
Y Spacing: The blank distance between two adjacent rows of image copies vertically.

2.5.4 Confirm Settings

After setting, click “OK”

2.5.5 Copy Setup Complete

The copy setup for the single image is complete. The images will be automatically arranged according to the quantity and spacing you defined.

2.6 Multiple Image Auto Layout

(This step applies when you need to print multiple different images simultaneously with optimized layout)

2.6.1 Add Multiple Image Jobs

Click the “Add job” icon, in the upper left corner of the PrintFactory software interface. In the file selection window, select multiple image files you want to layout simultaneously, then click “Open”.

2.6.2 Modify Image Spacing

In the “Alignment/Nesting” window, you can modify the default spacing between each image (recommended setting is 5mm, or adjust as needed).

2.6.3 Execute “Nest” Layout

After modifying the spacing, click the “Nest” button. The software will automatically calculate the optimal layout, arranging all images tightly within the print area to maximize material savings.

2.6.4 Confirm Multi-File Layout Completion

After the automatic layout of multiple images is complete, they will be displayed in the layout area with an optimized arrangement.
