Set PrintFactory Output File Storage Path

1. Create the Output Folder (One-Time Setup)

1.1 Select a Folder Location

Choose a fixed and easy-to-find location on your computer, for example:

  • Desktop
  • Local disk directory

Recommendation:
Select a location that is not easily deleted or cleaned by the system.
A local disk directory is recommended.
Do not use a network drive or removable storage device.

1.2 Create a New Folder

  • Right-click the mouse and select New → Folder (See Figure 1)

This folder is used to store `.prt` files from PrintFactory.
Use a clear folder name, for example: PrintFactory Output Files

2. Launch PrintFactory

Double-click the “PrintFactory” icon on the desktop to launch the software (See Figure 2).

3. Set the Output File Storage Path

The steps depend on whether PrintFactory is opened for the first time.

Please confirm your situation:

  • First-time launch: Follow 3.1
  • Not first-time launch: Follow 3.2

3.1 First-Time Launch (Automatic Window)

When PrintFactory is launched for the first time, the Output Folder Selection window appears automatically.

Steps:

  • Select Folder, then click the folder icon on the right (See Figure 3.1-1)
  • Select the output folder and click Select Folder to confirm (See Figure 3.1-2)

3.2 Not First-Time Launch (Manual Setup)

If the output folder window does not appear, follow these steps:

  • Double-click the printer icon on the left to open the output path settings window (See Figure 3.2-1)
  • Select “Folder”, then click the folder icon on the right (See Figure 3.2-2)
  • Select the output folder and click “Select Folder” to confirm (See Figure 3.2-3)

4. Configure Folder Options and Confirm

To save files directly in the selected output folder, uncheck:

  • Media Sub-directory
  • Mode Sub-directory

After these options are unchecked, PrintFactory will not create subfolders.
All .prt files are saved in one folder.

Click OK to save the settings (See Figure 4).

5. Printer Driver Status Confirmation

The output file storage path takes effect based on the printer driver currently in use.
Before completing the setup, confirm that the printer driver in PrintFactory has been loaded correctly.

  • Express Version:
Supports only one driver. No additional selection is required (See Figure 5).
  • Production Version:
Supports three drivers, each corresponding to a different printer.
Select the driver that matches the printer you are using.

6. Complete the Setup

After the output folder and options are confirmed,
Click OK to complete the setup (See Figure 6).

All .prt files from PrintFactory are saved in the selected folder.
