How to Set Mirror Printing for DTF and UV DTF in PrintFactory

1. When to Use Mirror Printing

  • Enable Mirror Printing

DTF printing: The artwork is printed on transfer film. It is then transferred to the fabric with a heat press. Enable mirror printing so the transferred artwork faces the correct direction.

  • Do Not Enable Mirror Printing

UV DTF printing: The image is printed on release film and then applied to the substrate. The image direction does not flip. Do not enable mirror printing. If enabled, the printed image will be reversed.

You normally need to set this only once. Check the mirror setting again after changing Media, Mode, or the print type.

2. Steps

2.1 Start PrintFactory RIP

Double-click the PrintFactory RIP icon on the desktop to start the software (See Fig.2.1).

2.2 Open Calibrator

Click theCalibrator icon Calibrator icon (See Fig.2.2-1).

The PrintFactory Calibrator window opens (See Fig.2.2-2).

2.3 Set Mirror Printing

Important

Do not select a different Media or Mode. Otherwise, the mirror setting may not apply to the actual print job.

  1. In the Media and Mode columns, select the options that you normally use for printing.
  2. In the Settings area, set Print mirrored:
    • DTF printing: Select the Print mirrored checkbox.
    • UV DTF printing: Clear the Print mirrored checkbox. (See Fig.3-1)
  1. Click the Save icon in the upper-right corner to save the setting (See Fig.2.3-2).

2.4 Confirm the Setting

Check that Print mirrored matches the print type: selected for DTF printing and cleared for UV DTF printing.

When you print with the same Media and Mode, the software applies this mirror setting automatically.

Mirror printing is now set.
