1. Preparation Before Installation

1.1 Hardware and System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10 or later
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 (2.3 GHz) or higher
  • Memory: 8 GB or more
  • Hard Disk: 500 GB or more

1.2 Environment Setup

  • Make sure the computer is connected to the Internet.
  • Turn off the firewall and antivirus software before installation.

1.3 Path Naming Rule

To ensure that the installer and driver run correctly, the installer file name and folder path may only contain the following characters:

  • English letters (A–Z / a–z)
  • Numbers (0–9)
  • Underscore (_)
  • Hyphen (-)
  • Space ( )

Do not use any other characters.

✔ Correct examples:
C:PMPrinterManager.exe
C:UsersTomDesktopPM_Installer

✘ Incorrect examples:
Paths containing Chinese characters, other languages, emojis, or special symbols.

1.4 Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package

Before installing “PrintExp”, you must first back up the “Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package” provided by the technician to the desktop.

1.5 Backup the Installation Files

Insert the factory-provided USB drive, Locate the following files on the USB drive:

  • PrintExp Installer Package

Copy both files to your desktop for backup.

Note:
If the USB drive is lost, please contact LINKO Technical Support to obtain a verified and safe installation package.

2. PrintExp Installation Steps

2.1 Install the Runtime Package

  • Double-click the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Collection icon on your desktop (See Figure 2.1-1)
  • Click “Next” as guided (See Figure 2.1-2 / 2.1-3)
  • When installation is complete, click “Finish” (See Figure 2.1-4 / 2.1-5)

2.2 Select Installation Language

  • Double-click the extracted PrintExp Installer (See Figure 2.2-1)
  • Select your preferred language and click “OK” (See Figure 2.2-2)

2.3 Start the Setup Wizard

Click “Next” on the welcome screen (See Figure 2.3).

2.4 Choose Installation Path

You may keep the default path (recommended), or choose another drive, then click “Next”(See Figure 2.4)

2.5 Select Interface Components

In the “Select Components” window, choose the interface type that matches your printer’s physical connector, then click “Next” (See Figure 2.5).

  • LINK TCP: For Ethernet connection (See Figure 2.5-2)
  • LINK USB: For USB connection (See Figure 2.5-3)

Please refer to the interface illustrations below to select the correct option.

2.6 Create Desktop Shortcuts

  • Click “Next” on the “Select Start Menu Folder” screen (See Figure 2.6-1)
  • Keep both default options checked:
    Create a desktop icon
    Create a Quick Launch icon
    Click “Next” (See Figure 2.6-2)
  • Click “Install” and wait for the progress bar to complete (See Figure 2.6-3 / 2.6-4)

2.7 Repair VC++ Runtime (Automatically Triggered)

This step is handled automatically by the system.
Simply follow the prompts by clicking Next / Install / Finish.

2.7.1 Repair Microsoft Visual C++ 2008

  • Click “Next” (See Figure 2.7.1-1)
  • Agree to the terms and click “Install” (See Figure 2.7.1-2 / 2.7.1-3)
  • Click “Finish” (See Figure 2.7.1-4)

2.7.2 Repair Microsoft Visual C++ 2010

  • Select “Repair Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable.”
    Click “Next” (See Figure 2.7.2-1)
  • After the repair is complete, click “Finish” (See Figure 2.7.2-2)

2.8 Driver Installation

  • Wait for the progress bar to load completely (See Figure 2.8-1)
  • Click “Next” (See Figure 2.8-2)
  • Check “I accept the terms in the license agreement”, then click “Next” (See Figure 2.8-3)
  • User information may be left blank; click “Next” (See Figure 2.8-4)

2.9 Complete Installation Process

  • Select “Complete” installation type and click “Next” (See Figure 2.9-1)
  • Click “Install” (See Figure 2.9-2)
  • Wait for installation to finish (See Figure 2.9-3)
  • Click “Finish” (See Figure 2.9-4)
  • Click “Finish” again on the final page to complete the setup (See Figure 2.9-5)

3. After Installation

PrintExp has been successfully installed.
A PrintExp shortcut will appear on the desktop.
Double-click it to enter the main interface and begin using the software.
