Ink Station Sensor Inspection and Replacement Guide

Applicable Model: LINKO K605B DTF Printer

Step 1. Preparation

1.1 Engage the emergency stop switch: Press it down to stop all motion. (See Figure 1.1)

1.2 Safety Warning: Turn off the power and unplug the machine before doing any work.

This prevents damage to the ink station sensor and avoids electric shock.

1.3 Tip: Take a clear photo of the ink station sensor and its wiring.
This photo will help you reinstall the sensor correctly.

Step 2. Remove the Old Ink Station Sensor

Unscrew the screw that fixes the ink station sensor. (See Figure 2.1)

2.2 Disconnect the ink station sensor cable. (See Figure 2.2-1)

Remove the old ink station sensor. (See Figure 2.2-2)

Step 3. Install the New Ink Station Sensor

3.1 Make sure the new ink station sensor model matches the old one.
3.2 Plug the cable into the new ink station sensor. (See Figure 3.2)

3.3 Align the mounting holes. Place the new ink station sensor into position and tighten the screw. (See Figure 2.1)

Tip: After connecting the cable, take a clear wiring photo and send it to the LINKO Technical Support Team for confirmation before powering on.

Step 4. Power-On Check

4.1 Ensure the cable is fully inserted and not reversed.
4.2 lug in the power cord and turn on the main power switch. (See Figure 1.1-2)
4.3 Make sure the emergency stop switch is in the “released” position. (See Figure 4.3)

4.4 Press Enter on the control panel to home the carriage. (See Figure 4.4)
If the carriage is already at the home position, skip this step.

4.5 Check the Mainboard Ink Station Home Sensor Indicator

During carriage homing, observe the Ink Station Sensor Indicator on the mainboard:

✅ Normal:
Carriage at home, this means the mainboard detects the ink station position correctly→ Light On. (See Figure 4.5-1)
Carriage away, this means the ink station sensor signal was not detected → Light Off. (See Figure 4.5-2)

❌ Abnormal:
The light stays always ON or always OFF, not changing with carriage movement. (See Figure 4.5-2)

Appendix – When the Ink Station Sensor Needs Replacement

The ink station sensor should be replaced in the following conditions:

  • The home signal is not detected during carriage homing.
  • The Ink Station Home Sensor Indicator does not turn on when the printhead reaches the ink station.
  • Cleaning or pumping does not start.
  • The printhead cannot be capped correctly.
  • The sensor signal is unstable or intermittent.
  • The sensor shows contamination, corrosion, or physical damage.
  • The sensor does not respond after reconnection or repeated checks.

The ink station sensor is a consumable electronic component, and its performance may degrade over time due to humidity, ink mist, vibration, oxidation, or aging.
