Cleaning and Moisturizing Solution Identification & Selection Guide

1. Document Purpose

This guide helps you choose the correct Cleaning Solution or Moisturizing Solution for LINKO DTF, UV, and UV DTF printers. It helps prevent wrong use, liquid mixing, over-soaking, and equipment damage.

✅ Before You Use Any Liquid, Please Confirm:

  • Printer type: DTF / UV / UV DTF
  • Bottle label: Cleaning / Strong Cleaning / Moisturizing
  • Bottle color and cap color
  • Intended use: cleaning / soaking / moisturizing / flushing
  • Soaking time limit: whether soaking is allowed and how long it can last

This guide is useful for new printer setup, printhead cleaning, downtime protection, clog treatment, and technical support checks.

2. ⚠️ Red Line 1: Do Not Mix DTF and UV / UV DTF Solutions

⚠️ Critical Warning: DTF and UV / UV DTF printers use completely different chemical formulas. Use the correct solution for the correct printer type. Do not use DTF solutions on UV / UV DTF printers. Do not use UV / UV DTF solutions on DTF printers.

  • Risks of Misuse: Using the wrong liquid may cause ink to thicken and form gel-like deposits. It can clog ink tubes, dampers, ink lines, and printheads. In severe cases, this can cause irreversible damage.
  • Confirm Before Use: If you are unsure about the compatibility of a liquid, stop immediately. Take a photo and confirm with technical support before using it.

3. ⚠️ Red Line 2: Do Not Rely Solely on Bottle Color

  • Check the label before use. Bottle color is only a reference. Always check the printer type and the bottle label before use.
  • Important Note About Black Bottles: For UV / UV DTF processes, there are two entirely different liquids in the black bottles. One is a Black Bottle Moisturizing Solution. The other is a Black Bottle Cleaning Solution.
  • Always Read the Label: Customers must carefully read the English label on the bottle (Cleaning / Moisturizing). Do not apply a liquid simply because it comes in a black bottle.

4. ⚠️ Red Line 3: Do Not Mix Any Two Liquids

  • Do not mix.
  • Do not mix Cleaning Solution and Moisturizing Solution together.
  • Do not mix regular Cleaning Solution and Strong Cleaning Solution together.
  • Use them step by step. Do not use them as a blended liquid.

5. DTF Liquid Identification & Selection

DTF maintenance liquids are mainly divided into two types:

7. Differences Between Cleaning and Moisturizing Solutions

Cleaning Solution

✅ Used for:

  • Cleaning residual ink on the printhead surface.
  • Assisting with the removal of nozzle clogs.
  • Flushing dampers, ink tubes, or ink line residues.
  • Short-term softening of dried ink.

❌ Do NOT use for:

  • Long-term continuous soaking of the printhead.
  • Overnight or holiday downtime protection.
  • Using it on the wrong printer type. Do not use DTF solutions on UV / UV DTF printers, and do not use UV / UV DTF solutions on DTF printers.

Moisturizing Solution

✅ Used for:

  • Keeping the printhead moist overnight after daily work.
  • Protecting the printhead during weekends or long holiday downtimes.

  • DTF White Bottle Moisturizing Solution can also be used as a primary soaking treatment for minor clogs.

❌ Do NOT use for:

  • Replacing Strong Cleaning Solution for extremely severe or stubborn clogs.
  • Using it on the wrong printer type. Do not use DTF solutions on UV / UV DTF printers, and do not use UV / UV DTF solutions on DTF printers.

8. 📸 Pre-Use Confirmation Method

If you have any doubts about which liquid to use during maintenance, please stop immediately and contact technical support. To help us diagnose quickly, please take photos of the following details:

① The front label of the bottle.

② The color of the bottle cap.

③ The color of the liquid inside.

④ Your printer model.

⑤ What you intend to do: Cleaning, moisturizing, normal printing, clog treatment, or flushing the ink system.

Standard Script for Customers:“Please do not use the liquid yet. Send us clear photos of the bottle label, bottle cap color, liquid color, and your printer model. Also tell us whether you plan to use it for cleaning or moisturizing. We will confirm before you use it.”

9. Operational Risk Warnings

9.1 Do Not Let Liquid Overflow

  • Add only enough liquid to wet the sponge or cap top area.
  • Do not overfill the capping station.
  • Overflowing liquid may enter flat cables or electronic parts under the carriage and cause electrical damage.

9.2 Do Not Leave the Printhead Exposed

  • After adding Cleaning Solution or Moisturizing Solution, move the carriage back to the capping station immediately.
  • Make sure the printhead is sealed properly.
  • Do not leave the printhead exposed to air for a long time. Ink inside the nozzles may dry out quickly and cause clogs.

9.3 Check Auto-Cleaning Settings

  • On some printer models, Auto-Cleaning may pump away the Moisturizing Solution during long idle periods.
  • Follow the specific maintenance guide for your printer model.
  • If you are not sure, confirm the electrical and software settings with technical support before leaving the printer idle for a long time.
