Flexi (PP) Spot Color Setup Guide
1. What is a Spot Color?
Normally, we use CMYK inks (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) to mix and print many colors.
But some colors, like fluorescent, cannot be made by mixing CMYK.
So we use spot inks.
These inks do not mix with others.
They are printed separately to make the color look more bright and special.
2. Why do we use Spot Colors?
CMYK inks can print most colors.
But sometimes we want colors to look brighter and stronger.
For example, to make red more red, green more green, or to show fluorescent effects.
Then we use spot inks to help.
To do this, we must set the spot color in the software.
This tells the printer to use the special ink, not mix it with CMYK.
3.2 Open Print Job Properties
Find and double-click on the “LINKO-HS-EP” button (as shown by the red arrow). This opens the detailed printer setup window.

3.3 Click the “Printer option” Icon
In the pop-up settings window, click the fourth icon “Printer option” (red arrow indicated). This section allows you to adjust hardware and ink-related settings.
3.4 Adjust Dot Option
Modify the “Dot option” according to your printing needs:
Smaller dots: Finer and clearer print output
Larger dots: Higher ink coverage and richer color
Default setting: A combination of Large / Middle / Small dot sizes impacts detail and ink consumption

3.5 Enable Spot Color
Locate and enable the “Spot color” checkbox. This tells the software to detect and process defined spot colors in your design file as independent inks, without blending with CMYK.

3.6 Save and Close the Dialog
Once all settings are configured, click “OK” at the bottom of the window to save changes and close the dialog.

After completing these steps, spot colors are enabled in Flexi (PP).
Make sure your design file includes properly defined spot colors. Flexi will then detect them and instruct the printer to use the correct spot inks for brighter, more vivid prints.
