1. Preparation Before Layout

1.1 Prepare the image file

Ensure that the image file you want to layout (such as JPG, TIFF, PNG, etc.) is saved on your computer and easy to locate.

2. Layout Operation Steps

2.1 Launch FlexiPRINT LINKO Edition

Double-click the FlexiPRINT LINKO Edition icon on your desktop to launch the software.(The icon location is marked with a red arrow in the figure.)

2.2 Add a New Job

In the Flexi menu bar, click the Job ▼ icon, then select Add Job from the dropdown menu.

2.3 Import Image File

A file selection dialog will pop up. Click the Add button, browse to the location of your image file on your computer, and import it.

2.4 Open the Job Properties Window

Double-click the job row of the image you just imported. This will open the Job Properties dialog, where all layout settings are made.

2.5 Set the Media Size

2.5.1Enter Custom Media Size

Manually enter the Media Width and Media Height according to the actual roll or sheet size you’re using.

2.5.2 Choose Preset Sizes

The software also provides some preset size options. You can select one as needed.

2.6 Set Page Margins

This setting allows you to leave margins around the edges of the media, which is especially useful in the following case:

For cutting jobs: If your design requires post-print cutting, leaving margins avoids the feed roller interfering with the image, ensuring cutting accuracy.

2.7 Set Output Size

In the Size section, you can adjust the output size of the image (this changes the image itself, not the media):

Check the Proportional option to maintain the aspect ratio and prevent distortion.

2.8 Set Image Position

In the Position section, you can control the image position on the media:

2.9 Set Number of Copies and Spacing

In the Copies section, you can:

It is recommended to set spacing values greater than 0.5 inch to avoid overlapping.

2.10 Layout Tools

2.10.1 File Positioning

You can quickly position the job file on the media using one of the following:

2.10.2 Vertical Mirror

Click the “F” icon to flip the image horizontally:

2.10.3 Rotate the Image

Click the rotation icon to rotate the image in 90-degree increments:

2.11 Enable Page Nesting

Check the Page Nesting option to automatically optimize the layout of multiple images on the media. This helps reduce media usage and lower costs.

2.12 Choose Preview Mode in Job Properties

In the Job Properties dialog, you can choose from several preview modes to visualize the layout:

2.12.1 Page Preview

Shows a single page or image preview.

2.12.2 Layout Preview (Default)

Displays the arrangement of the image on the entire media.

2.12.3 Tile Preview

If your image is to be printed in tiles, this mode displays each tile segment.

If your image includes transparent areas, this mode shows how they will appear.

2.13 Complete the Layout

After confirming all layout settings, click the OK button to close the Job Properties dialog.
Your layout process is now complete.
