LINKO KM602B DTF Printer Carriage Board Replacement and Wiring Guide

Applicable Model: LINKO KM602B DTF Printer

Completion Check: After startup, at least one indicator light on the carriage board is on (see Fig. 5.3-2).

Step 1. Power Off and Record the Wiring

1.1 Turn Off the Printer

Press the device power button to turn off the printer (See Fig. 1.1).

1.2 Switch Off the Main Power and Unplug the Power Cord

Warning: Press the side marked “○” on the main power switch fully down. Then unplug the power cord (see Fig. 1.2-1). Make sure the printer is fully powered off before continuing. Working while power is connected may cause electric shock or permanently damage the carriage board.

1.3 Remove the Carriage Board Cover

Remove the two screws, then remove the carriage board cover (See Fig. 1.3-1 and Fig. 1.3-2).

1.4 Photograph the Original Wiring

Take a clear photo of the original carriage board wiring. Make sure the connector positions, cable directions, and printhead flat-cable order are visible. Use this photo when installing the new board.

Step 2. Remove the Old Carriage Board

2.1 Identify the Cables Using the Wiring Diagram

Table 2.1 Carriage Board Cable List

No. Interface Cable ID Function Cable Type
① Power Input MOVE CAR POWER 42 V main power input Power cable
② SFP Fiber Port — Connects the mainboard and carriage board SFP fiber-optic cable
③ Encoder Sensor — Detects carriage position Signal cable

2.2 Disconnect the Power Input Cable

Remove the two screws from power input cable ①. Then disconnect the cable (see Fig. 2.1 and Fig. 2.2).

2.3 Disconnect the Fiber-Optic and Signal Cables

Disconnect SFP fiber-optic cable ② and encoder sensor signal cable ③ (see Fig. 2.1).

2.4 Disconnect the Printhead Flat Cables

Disconnect the printhead flat cables in their original order. If they are not already secured, use rubber bands to keep them in the same order (see Fig. 2.4).

2.5 Remove the Carriage Board Mounting Screws

Remove the four carriage board mounting screws (see Fig. 2.5).

2.6 Remove the Old Carriage Board

Lift the old carriage board upward and place it in an antistatic bag (see Fig. 2.6-1 and Fig. 2.6-2).

Step 3. Install the New Carriage Board

3.1 Verify the New Carriage Board Model

Compare the model markings and labels on the old and new carriage boards. Confirm that they match (see Fig. 2.6-2). If they do not match, do not install the new board. Contact LINKO Technical Support.

3.2 Place the New Carriage Board

Hold the carriage board by its edges. Do not touch the components or contacts.

Align the new carriage board with the four mounting holes, then place it on the base. See Fig. 2.5 for the mounting hole locations.

3.3 Secure the Carriage Board

Secure the carriage board to the base with the four mounting screws (see Fig. 2.5).

Step 4. Reconnect the Cables

4.1 Connect the Power Input Cable

Connect 42 V power input cable ①. Tighten its two screws (see Fig. 2.1 and Fig. 2.2).

4.2 Connect the Fiber-Optic and Signal Cables

Reconnect SFP fiber-optic cable ② and encoder sensor signal cable ③. Make sure both cables are oriented correctly and fully seated (see Fig. 2.1).

4.3 Connect the Printhead Flat Cables

Use the photo from Step 1.4 as a reference. Reconnect all printhead flat cables in their original order. Make sure each cable is oriented correctly and fully seated.

4.4 Check the Wiring Before Power-On

Compare the wiring with the photo from Step 1.4 and Fig. 2.1. Make sure no cable is missing, loose, or reversed. Take a clear photo of the completed wiring and send it to LINKO Technical Support. Power on only after you receive confirmation.

4.5 Reinstall the Carriage Board Cover

Align the cover with the mounting holes. Reinstall the carriage board cover and tighten the two screws (see Fig. 1.3-1 and Fig. 1.3-2).

Step 5. Power On and Check the Board

5.1 Confirm the Printer Is Ready for Power-On

Make sure you received the wiring confirmation from Step 4.4 and the carriage board cover is secured.

5.2 Turn On the Main Power

Plug in the power cord. Press the side marked “—” on the main power switch fully down (see Fig. 5.2-1 and Fig. 5.2-2).

5.3 Start the Printer and Check the Indicator Lights

Press the device power button to start the printer (see Fig. 5.3-1).

Compare the carriage board with Fig. 5.3-2. Confirm that at least one indicator light is on.

Complete: At least one indicator light on the carriage board is on. The replacement is complete. If no indicator light turns on or the printer behaves abnormally, turn off the printer immediately. Switch off the main power and unplug the power cord. Do not power on repeatedly. Contact LINKO Technical Support.
